Shopping the other day for new sunglasses at a high end retailer. The salesman, a young guy with the unlikely (but true) name of MAX BRAVO was OTT helpful. I was so impressed with his customer service skills and enthusiasm. I told him I was looking for the latest Prada glasses – the ones featured in this months Vogue. We got to talking and he asked me what I did for a living – an Image Consultant Trainer, I said. He asked for more details and then we started talking fashion. He told me that when he gets dressed in the morning he dresses to the first song that plays on his Pandora radio. The day I met him he was nattily dressed and said he got dressed to JayZ!!
Got me thinking – what if I could dress in such an inspired way? Could I imagine how to style myself better just by listening to music? What a creative way to get dressed in the morning! So I flicked open my iTunes and got really inspired. Music is a great way to get the creative juices flowing! Here is what I envisioned for the next few days of dressing up. Try it yourself and see what you come up with!
Frank Sinatra – Fly Me To The Moon = black silk jacket paired with a cream silk charmeuse blouse with bow neckline, wide black satin pants, black patent stilettos.
Rihanna – Diamonds = Red Jacket, floral print Lurex tunic tank, leather leggings, chains on shoes!
Adele – Rolling in The Deep = Emerald one shoulder velvet top with white satin pencil skirt, black booties!
Getting dressed seems like much more fun when it's done to music. Thank you Max Bravo for the inspiration (Saks Fifth, Union Square) - and, by the way, he's promised to find me those glasses!
